They are sturdy. Used for sculpting clay.These need a foam grip to improve comfort but are otherwise great tools.I bought these for a sgraffito class, but found they weren’t small enough for the detail work I wanted to do. On my next sgraffito piece, I was clearing the negative space around a design and these were perfect. Small enough to get into tight areas and large enough for carving broad swaths of clay, leaving an interesting texture.Just got it so still evaluating but first impression is very positive. Item arrived three days ahead of schedule. Tools are super solid and I want to say they're made of a single piece of steel. The cuts are very clean, even on soft clay. The price is high, even when you factor in the superior product quality, but the tools will probably last and, at least for me, the super clean cuts will probably make a difference in the sculpting. It helps that the brand isn't some fictitious popup label but a reputable established brand that has lots to lose if they sell junk and leave customers unhappy (a fictitious popup label can just start over under a different name selling the same product and carry on as if its prior negative reviews belonged to some one else).I really liked these tools, they have more heft and feel sturdy and professional to use. The only thing I saw was after the first use in the square one, a metal shaving started to come off, I just peeled it off and it seems fine, so didn't interrupt my carving. Overall, would definitely recommend.I use this for pottery carving and it does a great job!I used one of the tools yesterday to carve a design in the pot I threw. The tool was very easy to use, carved great, and was sturdy. Can't wait to experiment with the other tools that were included.The tools are made using great materials, but it is just too thick to add details and work with clay precisely.
