1/2" Shank Double Flute Carbide Router Bit for Woodworking & Surface Planing

I got the 1.5" diameter bit for flattening rough slabs using a homemade rail jig for my hand-held router. But I might also use it in the future for 1.5" dados when using 2X material. Plenty of depth cutting capacity at 20mm, or a little over 3/4".Anyway, I'm still building the flattening jig and waiting for the slabs to dry. So for now, I put this bit in the router table just to do some test cuts. It works great. It's extremely sharp. Cut effortlessly through some soft pieces of poplar. Almost no resistance. The profile was very flat and flawless on the bottom and sides. Nice clean 90 degree corners. Even on deeper cuts, it was smooth and efficient. No burning or chatter.The bit seems to be very well made, with good quality carbon steel and carbide-tipped flutes. I posted several close-up photos so you can appreciate the build quality and attention to detail. I examined it carefully for any imperfections and found none. Although there was a small rust spot on the base (bottom) of the shank that you can see in one of the photos I posted.The little plastic storage case is nothing special. But it will protect the bit during storage or transport and it's clearly labeled so I can quickly find what I need.Overall, I'm very impressed with this bit so far, even though I haven't stressed it much yet and I can't speak to long-term durability. Can't wait to put it to work on my slabs and other flattening jobs. From my research, it is very reasonably priced compared to similar large bits.
